Inverter as Subordinate Device: Commissioning Procedure


This section describes the procedure for commissioning the SMA Commercial Storage Solution with a Sunny Tripower Storage X as a subordinate device.

It provides an overview of the steps, which must be performed in the prescribed sequence.

For systems with more than four Sunny Tripower Storage X systems, make an appointment for a CMV measurement. Contact the Service.

Check that all installed components have been correctly mounted and connected.

If there is more than one battery cabinet installed, set the address and terminator on the battery management system of each battery cabinet.

If there is more than one battery cabinet installed, commission the secondary battery cabinet or cabinets.

Start commissioning of the primary battery cabinet.

Start commissioning of the individual battery cabinet.

Commission the inverter.

Switching the Inverter On)

Establish a connection to the user interface of the inverter. There are various connection options to choose from for this:

  • Connection in the local network

  • Connection via Wi-Fi

If required, change the network configuration on the welcome page.

Commissioning Assistant

Carry out the configuration using the Commissioning Assistant. When doing so, select inverter as Subordinate device in the device configuration.

Register the inverter as an SMA Speedwire device in the System Manager.

Complete commissioning of the primary battery cabinet.

Configure the temperature and humidity sensor.

To monitor the PV system and visualize the PV system data, register in the Sunny Portal and create the system in Sunny Portal or add devices to an existing system.
