Connecting the CAN Communication System
Qualified person
An inverter can have up to four battery cabinets connected to it. For systems with more than one battery cabinet, the battery management systems of the individual battery cabinets must be connected to each other via a CAN communication bus.
Procedure:
- Plug the first connector of a communication cable from the supplied accessory kit of the DC distributor on the battery management system of the primary battery cabinet into the CAN OUT socket.
- Plug the second connector of this communication cable on the battery management system of the first secondary battery cabinet into the CAN IN socket.
- If there is a second secondary battery cabinet, plug the first connector of a further communication cable from the supplied accessory kit of the DC distributor on the battery management system of the first secondary battery cabinet into the CAN OUT socket.
- Plug the second connector of this communication cable on the battery management system of the second secondary battery cabinet into the CAN IN socket.
- If there is a third secondary battery cabinet, plug the first connector of the last communication cable from the supplied accessory kit of the DC distributor on the battery management system of the second secondary battery cabinet into the CAN OUT socket.
- Plug the second connector of this communication cable on the battery management system of the third secondary battery cabinet into the CAN IN socket.
