For energy systems: Defining thermal energy requirements
In thermal systems with 2 heat generators, the combined heat and power plant or the heat pump accepts the base load and the boiler the peak load. In systems with a combined heat and power plant and a heat pump, the heat pump absorbs the peak load. Combined heat and power plants are heat-operated.
Prerequisite:
You must have opened an energy system project and planned it up to the project page Energy system.
You must have selected thermal components, such as a heat pump or combined heat and power plant.
Procedure:
- In the Energy system area page, click on the [Buildings] button and select [Adjusting the scenario] in the context menu.
- The page Define scenario will open.
- In the area Thermal energy demand, click on the button [Heating energy requirement] or [Building size].
- If you have clicked on the button [Heating energy requirement] under Basis for calculation, click on the button [Absolute] or [Specific] in the Heating energy requirement area and enter the heating energy requirement per year.
- If you clicked on the button [Specific] under Heating energy requirement, enter the heated area and specific heating energy requirement.
- If you have clicked on the button [Building size] in the area Basis for calculation, select the corresponding building type from the drop-down list and then enter the values for the building length and width, number of floors, height of the floors, target room temperature for day and night, and daily hot water demand.
- Enter the average hot water requirement per day in liters under Hot water requirement.
