Sunny Design Pro: Importing 3D models

If you have access to Sunny Design Pro, you can import 3D models for the visual roof planning tool.

Requirements:

  • You must have opened a project and planned it up to the page Configure system (quick planning) or Configure PV system (detailed planning).

  • You must have opened the visual roof planning tool.

  • Supported file formats for the 3D model: ".obj", ".dae", ".mtl", ".zip"

  • Supported file formats for textures: ".png", ".jpg"

  • The models may consist of a maximum of 10 files with a maximum total of 20 MB.

Procedure:

  1. In the visual roof planning tool window, click on the button [Add 3D import].
  2. The 3D import dialog box will open.
  3. Select the file to be imported or drag into the window and drop.
  4. If required, adjust the scaling.
  5. Click on [OK].

Tip: If you activate the Deactivate collision detection option, collisions with imported 3D models are ignored and you can move PV modules into protruding objects. This can be helpful, for example, if the imported 3D model still contains objects, such as ventilation pipes, that are to be removed from the system.
