Defining the battery charge time window

In projects with self-consumption, the Sunny Home Manager can control the battery system in such a way that costs can be saved in terms of time-of-use electricity tariffs. For this purpose, you must define the time windows in which the battery can be charged with energy drawn from the utility grid.

Prerequisites:

  • You have opened a project with self-consumption and planned it up to the project page Determine self-consumption.

Procedure:

  1. On the page Determine self-consumption, enable the option Energy management and, if necessary, select a Sunny Home Manager 2.0 or Sunny Home Manager as an energy-management device.
Information: If an SMA Cluster Controller or SMA Data Manager M has been selected on the "Configure PV system" page, this option cannot be selected.
  2. Enable the option Intermediate storage of excess PV energy.
  3. Click on the field Battery charge time window.
  4. The Battery charge time window dialog box will open.
  5. Select the days for which the time window is to be defined.
  6. Select the start and end of the time window via the from and to drop-down lists.
  7. Enter the maximum charging power.
  8. If you want to define another battery charge time window, select [Add a time period] and the appropriate settings.
  9. To delete a time period, click on the trash can icon.
  10. Select [OK] to save the settings.
