Defining time windows for electric vehicles

You must define time windows with regard to the different types of use of electric vehicles and availability of charging stations. You may add a certain tolerance to each time window. Potential shortages in terms of self-consumption can be better identified.

Prerequisites:

  • For projects with self-consumption:

    • You must have opened a project and planned it up to the project page Define load profile.

    • E-mobility will also be planned in the project. In the E-mobility area, the option Take e-mobility into account is enabled.

  • For energy system projects:

    • You must have opened a project and planned it up to the project page Energy system.

    • E-mobility will also be planned in the project. On the project page Define scenario, the Charging stations option has been enabled in the System components area.

Procedure:

  1. In projects with self-consumption: On the page Define load profile in the E-mobility area, click on the button next to the desired driving profile.
  2. The Driving profile dialog box will open.
  3. In energy system projects: on the page Energy system in the Loads area, click on the Mobility button.
  4. The Mobility dialog box will open.
  5. In the Mobility dialog box, click on the button next to the desired driving profile.
  6. The Driving profile dialog box will open.
  7. In the Usage profile area, click on the calendar.
  8. The Time window dialog box will open.
  9. To define a time window for charging an electric vehicle, click on the option Charging in the Type of the time period area.
  10. Select the days for which the time window is to be defined. If the time window applies to every day of the week at the same time, select the option Every day.
  11. Select the beginning of the time window from the drop-down list.
  12. Select the end of the time window from the drop-down list.
  13. Possible delays to the start or end of the time window can be selected from the respective drop-down list.
  14. If you have selected Charging for the time window, select the location of the charging station to be used. The calculation of e-mobility uses only the consumption for charging on site.
  15. Click on [OK] to save your settings for the time window.
