Defining statistical charging station usage


In energy system projects, you can add driving profiles with statistical usage behavior on the page Energy system in the area Loads > Mobility.

You have 2 different options available for improving charging behavior planning:

Queuing

Assumption: the majority of vehicles are waiting for a free charging station.

Skipping the charging process

Assumption: The majority of vehicles are skipping the charging process.

You have 2 different options available for improving charging duration planning:

Explanation

The vehicle leaves the charging station upon completing the length of stay (e.g., grocery store)

Assumption: the majority of vehicles do not perform a full charge.

Vehicle is being fully charged.

Assumption: the majority of vehicles perform a full charge.

Prerequisites:

  • You must have opened an energy system project and planned it up to the project page Energy system.

  • E-mobility will also be planned in the project. On the project page Define scenario, the Charging stations option has been enabled in the System components area.

Procedure:

  1. On the page Energy system in the Loads area, click on the Mobility button.
  2. The Mobility dialog box will open.
  3. In the area Application, select the option Statistical charging station usage.
  4. To select a template regarding the statistical usage of the charging station, click on [Select template].
  5. Enter the maximum charging power range of the arriving vehicles in the respective fields.
  6. Select the desired option button in the Behavior when more vehicles are arriving than charging stations are available field.
  7. Select the expected charging behavior of the vehicles under the Charging time option button.
  8. To configure the number and distribution of electric vehicle arrival over a 24 hour period, click on [Add new arrival profile] and make the corresponding settings.
  9. To assign an arrival profile to a certain day of the week, enable or disable the corresponding weekdays within the required arrival profile.
    Note: Enabled weekdays are highlighted in blue.
  10. To delete profiles, click on the trash can icon of the corresponding arrival profile
  11. Click on [Accept changes] to save the changes.
