Creating a new electrical design

On this page, you can design the circuitry for the PV modules and assign them to the inverters or make changes in the design suggestions.

The electrical design can be created in 3 different ways:

  • Design suggestions: Different design suggestions are automatically calculated in shown on a list. The list can be sorted by the number of inverters, efficiency or by energy yield to make it easier to select the design. The inverters used can be limited in retrospect based on various properties and restrictions. On the list of calculated designs, the recommended inverters, nominal power ratio, energy yield and efficiency are included. Based on this information, one of the suggestions can be selected for the further design or multiple suggestions can be compared to each other. An additional design suggestion replaces a previously available electrical design.
If more than 3 PV arrays are designed, users must decide which 3 PV generators a design should be calculated for.

  • Automatic design: Different design suggestions are automatically calculate and the suggestion that the system rates as optimal will be selected. An additional automatic design replaces a previously available electrical design.
This type of calculation is only possible if a maximum of 3 PV arrays are designed.

  • Manual design: It is possible to manually select the inverters used. The inverter selection can be limited by SMA product family, various properties and restrictions. Each system section is selected separately. The design refers to the PV modules or PV arrays that have not yet been connected to inverter inputs. In manual design, new system sections are created.
