Defining a building
Requirements:
You must have opened a project and planned it up to the page Configure system (quick planning) or Configure PV system (detailed planning).
You must have opened the visual roof planning tool on the page Define building.
Procedure:
- By default, a building with a rectangular footprint will be added. If required, adjust the shape of the building and the type of roof via the drop-down list on the right-hand side (Standard or Angled). If you cannot find the required roof shape, select the roof with the strongest similarity. To depict complex building shapes, you can create several buildings and slide them into each other.
Information: It is not possible to define asymmetrical roof halves for gable roofs. If the roof halves are very different and possibly no PV modules should be mounted on one part, the choice of a pitched roof and the corresponding change in house dimensions is recommended. - In the BUILDING tab, adjust the size of the building using the mouse or via the input fields.
- Adjust the position and roof pitch of the house.
- Adjust the orientation of the house with regard to the direction. This information is also used for further calculations.
- For Offset height profile, enter the offset of the height profile. This option is only relevant if you have activated the Use Google Solar option.
- Select the material for the roof and facade.
- Select the ROOF OVERHANGS tab and adjust the dimensions of the roof overhangs and the roof thickness using the input fields.
- To add a further building, click on the map and deselect the positioned building, adjust the shape via Angled building with [Yes] or [No] and select the roof type.
To add the building, select [Add new building].
