Enabling peak shaving with increased self-consumption with three-phase battery storage systems
Prerequisites:
For projects with self-consumption:
You have opened a project and planned it up to the project page System (quick planning) or Determine self-consumption (detailed planning).
For energy system projects:
You have opened a project and planned it up to the project page Energy system.
Procedure:
- For energy systems, on the Energy system page, click the button [Battery System] in the central workspace and enable the option Take battery-storage systems into account.
- For PV systems with self-consumption, on the page System (quick planning), enable the option Take battery-storage systems into account, or on the page Determine self-consumption (detailed planning), enable the option Intermediate storage of excess PV energy.
- Select the Three-phase option.
- In the Application drop-down list, select the option Peak load shaving and increased self-consumption (multiuse).
- In the Device drop-down list, select the option Sunny Tripower Storage 60.
- To have a suggestion for the peak load shaving limit calculated, select [Determine consumption limit]. It only makes sense to configure the following settings with a grid-supply limit that is suitable for the system.
- Select [Apply proposal].
- To define the "multiuse" function, select [Settings]. The suggestion for the grid-supply limit has been applied in the dialog box.
- In the Grid-supply limit field for the “increased self-consumption” range, enter the value of the grid-supplied power at which the battery system begins to reduce the grid-supplied power by discharging the energy storage system. SMA Solar Technology AG recommends entering 0.0 kW.
- Enter the required values in the SOC limiting value, Hysteresis and Load limit fields. For the load limit for the “peak load shaving” range, SMA Solar Technology AG recommends entering the value of the grid-supply limit with a negative sign and 0.0 kW for the “increased self-consumption” range.
- Click on [OK] to save the settings.
