Enabling Speedwire Encryption
The Speedwire encryption lets you safely encrypt the local SMA system network with SEC (Speedwire Encrypted Communication) and protect from unauthorized access.

The Speedwire encryption can only be enabled if all devices in the system support SEC (Speedwire Encrypted Communication) and the devices can be accessed by the Sunny Home Manager.
Procedure:
- Call up the Properties of the SMA Home Manager.
- Select [Edit] on the device tab.
- In the line Speedwire encryption enable the field Active.
- Click on [Save].

If a new device is integrated into the system, this device must support encryption so that the encryption of the system can be maintained. Speedwire encryption must be temporarily deactivated if a new encryption-capable device is not displayed in the Overview of new devices. Once the new device has been added to the system, encryption can be re-enabled.

If the Sunny Home Manager is reset when Speedwire encryption is activated, the encryption is deleted and thus also the communication between the Sunny Home Manager and the Speedwire devices ( > Resetting the Sunny Home Manager). Therefore, deactivate Speedwire encryption before resetting the Sunny Home Manager.
