Procedure for commissioning in systems with System Manager

This section describes the commissioning procedure for an inverter used in systems with a System Manager (e.g., SMA Data Manager M). In this case, the inverter is controlled or regulated by the System Manager.

It provides an overview of the steps, which must be performed in the prescribed sequence.

Commission the inverter.

Commission the System Manager.

Manual of the System Manager

Register the inverter as an SMA Modbus device in the System Manager and make the initial configuration of the inverter via the System Manager. The configuration is transferred to the inverter and the settings of the inverter are overwritten.

Commissioning Assistant of the System Manager

Establish a connection to the user interface of the inverter. There are various connection options to choose from for this:

  • Direct connection via Wi-Fi

  • Connection via Wi-Fi in the local network

  • Connection via Ethernet in the local network

Log into the user interface.

Update the firmware.

Ensure that the country data set has been configured correctly.
