Residual-current monitoring unit

The inverter does not require an external residual-current device when operating. If local regulations require the use of a residual-current device, the following must be observed:

• The inverter is compatible with type A residual-current devices with a rated residual current of 100 mA or higher (see Technical Information "Criteria for Selecting a Residual-Current Device" for information on how to select a residual-current device at http://www.SMA-Solar.com). Each inverter in the system must be connected to the utility grid via a separate residual-current device.

• The internal residual-current device monitors the leakage current of the battery and PV connections and not the leakage current of the loads connected to the AC backup. If necessary, an external residual-current device with a rated residual current of 30 mA is to be connected.
