Event 6401

Qualified person

Event message:

  • Self-diagnosis

  • Interference device

Explanation:

The event message may indicate a hardware defect in the inverter, for example a faulty sensor for measuring the insulation resistance or a faulty string.

Corrective measures:

  • If the event message occurs once or very rarely and the inverter reconnects to the utility grid within a few minutes, no further measures are required.

  • If the event message occurs regularly or is permanently present, check the insulation resistance of the PV system (all strings) using an insulation meter.

If module electronic components, such as SunSpec-compatible module disconnectors, are present, an additional device is required to maintain the SunSpec PLC signal.

  • If a faulty string is identified, the inverter can be recommissioned with another string (if present).

  • If the event message persists, there is a hardware defect and the inverter must be replaced.

  • If the event message is no longer displayed, perform further test steps (insulation and voltage measurement) within the faulty string and rectify errors in the corresponding area (PV module, DC lines, DC line connections).

  • Once the error has been rectified, reconnect the string.

  • If the event message recurs, the insulation error has permanently damaged the inverter. Replace the inverter.
