Operating Modes of the Multifunction Relay

Operating mode of multifunction relay (Mlt.OpMode)

Description

Deactivated

The multifunction relay is deactivated.

Switching state Backup current active (BckOpModActl)

The multifunction relay controls a display device (e.g. an indicator light) which signals whether the battery-backup operation is active.

Fan control (FanCtl)

The multifunction relay controls an external fan, depending on the temperature of the inverter. If the temperature of the inverter rises above a limiting value defined by SMA, the fan starts automatically. If the temperature falls below the limiting value, the fan is switched off again.

Control via communication

The multifunction relay controls other devices in the system (e.g. a heat pump) via the SG-Ready contact.

Fault indication (FltInd)

The multifunction relay opens when the current flow is interrupted and controls an indicator device (e.g. a warning light), which signals an inverter fault by the green LED going out.

Ground-fault detection

The multifunction relay signals whether there is a ground fault.
