Configuring Limitation of Active Power Feed-In

Qualified person

With this product, you can implement grid operator specifications for the limitation of the active power feed-in from 0% to 100% in your system.

Information Regarding Limiting of the Active Power Feed-In

The setpoint for limitation of active power feed-in is specified in percent.

The total system power is taken as the reference value. If your grid operator requires the system not to feed in any active power, you must limit the active power feed-in to a fixed value of 0% and additionally adjust the preset value for the active power gradient. Thus, it is possible to limit the active power feed-in to 0% within a few seconds.

To compensate for load step changes and to establish a safety distance to the active power limitation, a negative value can be set for the specification of the limitation of the active power feed-in. This achieves a timely limitation of the active power feed-in. The value for the limitation of the active power feed-in should be adjusted to the load step changes accordingly.

Requirements:

  • The configuration for the active power limitation must be agreed upon with the responsible grid operator.

  • There must be an appropriate energy meter installed at the grid-connection point within the system.

Procedure:

  1. Log into the user interface of the product.
  2. Select the menu item Grid management service in the menu Configuration.
  3. Select the button Configuration & activation in the Active and reactive power row.
  4. The overview page of the grid management services opens.
  5. In the field Grid settings, select the arrow at the top right.
  6. In the field Nominal system power, enter the total sum of the nominal power of all connected inverters.
  7. Click on [Next].
  8. Under Active power > Operating mode, select the operating mode Closed-loop control.
  9. Click on [Next].
  10. Activate the setting Manual setpoint for active power limitation.
  11. To set the limitation of the active power feed-in to 0% of the nominal system power, for example, enter the value 0 in the Active power limitation field.
  12. To set the limitation of the active power feed-in to -10% of the nominal system power, for example, enter the value -10 in the Active power limitation field. Keep in mind that, in this case, power will always be drawn from the utility grid.
  13. Activate the switch to set Behavior in case of setpoint change.
  14. Select the mode required by the grid operator.
  15. Select [Next] until the overview page of the grid management services is displayed.
  16. Click on [Save].
