P_AV,E monitoring for SMA inverters
Regarding the settings for active power setpoints and prioritization, it is necessary to check whether a PAV,E monitoring, an external protective device or both are required in the respective system in accordance with the requirements of the FNN notice. PAV,E monitoring according to VDE-AR-N 4105 can generally be achieved through a suitable system controller or by using an external protective device. A suitable system controller communicates via Modbus, for example, at a control interval of 200 ms.
NOTICE
Regular grid disconnection limits the system's efficiency and electrical endurance
Using a protective device in place of a system controller for regular grid disconnection can prevent energy output on sunny days. Regularly triggering the fast stop function of the inverter can shorten its service life.
- If a protective device is used to comply with the PAV,E requirement, it must be ensured that the frequency of the disconnections due to exceeding the PAV,E power is limited. This is the case, for example, if the reference power in a system always corresponds to at least the difference between the sum of the nominal system power and the agreed connection power for the grid feed-in (PAV,E).
- SMA Solar Technology AG recommends to implement the PAV,E monitoring via the system controller if it is necessary to regularly intervene in the generation power.
