Possible protection concepts of the inverters
SMA inverters offer various options to meet the described protection concepts. An overview is provided in the following table.
Implementation of the protection concepts described in the FNN notice is subject to the following restrictions:
The Sunny Highpower PEAK3 does not have a unit certificate as per VDE-AR-N 4105, but as per VDE-AR-N 4110, meaning that an external monitoring device is generally required. As the Sunny Highpower PEAK3 has no fast-stop function, an external switch is always required.

1) Recommended at 135 kW to 270 kW, possible up to 500 kW
2) Recommended at 270 kW to 500 kW.
3) No fast stop function available. An external switch must always be used. Parameterize the inverter the same way as the external protective device for setting the protective thresholds.
