Introduction
General requirements
The technical requirements in the technical application rules for the medium voltage (VDE-AR-N 4110) and high voltage (VDE-AR-N 4120) stipulate that, at system level, the following prioritization must be observed in the sequence indicated:
Specifications for the grid management services by the grid operator
Compliance with the requirements for the response to overfrequency and underfrequency (P(f) function)
Market-driven specifications, e.g. power specification by a direct seller
It is essential for this application that, in the case of underfrequency events and simultaneous specifications by direct sellers, grid operators or others, the setpoints with the highest priority takes precedence and the other setpoints and maximum values are treated subordinately.
When the settings for system controller and inverter are observed, the required prioritization can be implemented with SMA components.
Detailed information on the different system concepts and required parameter settings of the components can be found under the following link: Technical Information "Prioritization of Active Power Setpoints according to VDE-AR-N 4110 or VDE-AR-N 4120 and NELEV/EEAV" and at www.SMA-Solar.com.
A manufacturer's declaration on this can be found under the following link: Prioritization of active power setpoints in the SMA Data Manager and at www.SMA-Solar.com.
At the request of the grid operator, an additional PAV,E monitoring may be required, that needs to be taken into account in the prioritization concept (also see VDE-AR-N 4105 and VDE FNN notice "PAV,E monitoring with connections to the medium- and high-voltage grid"). In case of specifications (e.g. grid management service and redispatch) the PAV,E monitoring has a higher priority than the P(f) function ( > VDE AR-N4105 / 4110 P_AV, E monitoring) .
