Systems with utility grid as an energy reserve for the battery-storage system

The utility grid can be used as an energy reserve instead if a diesel generator. The energy from the utility grid can be requested by the Sunny Island via different settings.

A system structure as shown in the following figure must be implemented to operate in off-grid mode in combination with a utility grid. The Sunny Island can synchronize with the grid at any time and disconnect the grid again when required. It thus retains control over the secure supply of all loads. After successful synchronization, the external source determines the voltage and frequency of the entire system.

In off-grid mode, loads and PV inverters can be connected to terminal "AC1" and the grid to terminal "AC2".
