Installing a Battery Module
CAUTION
Registration of the replacement device for the extended warranty required
To be able to use an extended warranty of ten years, the replacement module must be registered via the SMA product registration homepage (www.sma-service.com) upon receipt of the device. The conditions of the SMA limited factory warranty apply.

Requirements:
- The defective battery module has been removed ( > Removing a Battery Module).
- The remaining modules have been charged to 30% SOC ( > Bring the battery modules to a state of charge of 30%).
Procedure:
- Mount the new battery module.
If the lowest battery module was replaced, mount the adjustable feet and U-turn unit. If the uppermost battery module was replaced, use the wall mounted bracket from the defective module and attach it to the wall. - Place the BMS unit onto the uppermost battery module and attach using the two screw and washer assemblies (M6x16, AF10, tightening torque 5 Nm).
- Recommission the system with all battery modules.
