Decommissioning the Product

To permanently decommission the product, perform the steps described in the following.

Requirements:

  • Original packaging or packaging suitable for the weight and dimensions of the battery modules and the BMS unit is available.
  • Mounting material for attaching the packaging on the Euro pallets is available (e.g., tie-down straps).

    Procedure:

    1. Disconnect the product from voltage sources ( > Disconnecting the Product from Voltage Sources).
    2. Disconnect all DC and grounding cables.
    3. Disconnect all communication cables.
    4. Undo the two screws (M6/AF10) on the BMS unit and remove the BMS unit.
    5. Remove the wall mounting bracket from the uppermost module and remove the battery modules.
    6. Remove the wall mounting bracket from the lowest module. Then unscrew the adjustable feet and remove the U-turn unit.
    7. If the battery module or the BMS unit is to be stored or shipped: Package the battery module or the BMS unit. To do this, use the original packaging or packaging that is suitable for the weight and dimensions of the battery module or the BMS unit and that complies with the regulations for the transport of batteries.
