Configuring the RS485 Interface

Requirements:

  • The inverter must be configured as a subordinate device.

  • The SMA RS485 module (MD.485-41) must be installed in the inverter (see SMA RS485module manual).

  • The user interface for the subordinate device must be open and you must be logged in as an installer or administrator.

Procedure:

  1. Select the menu Configuration.
  2. Select the menu item External communication.
  3. Under Data-1 Server select the button [Carry out initial configuration].
  4. Use the slider to activate the data-1 server.
  5. Select the displayed port.
  6. Set the baud rate (1200 baud or 19200 baud).
  • The RS485 interface is active and configured.
