Information on establishing a connection

To establish a connection, SMA Solar Technology AG recommends only using Wi-Fi for commissioning. For a stable connection, especially in systems with e.g. system control or energy management, an Ethernet connection is advisable in order to prevent feed-in problems or yield losses.

For the operation of the Sunny Island X, the Sunny Tripower Storage X and the SMA Data Manager M, only the connection via Ethernet is to be used. Wi-Fi is only available for these devices for commissioning.

Additionally, the Wi-Fi direct connection with the SMA 360° app ( > Establishing a direct Wi-Fi connection with the 360° app) is only available within the app for the following inverters: Sunny Boy Smart Energy, Sunny Tripower X 25 und Sunny Tripower X 60.
When commissioning all other products powered by ennexOS with the SMA 360° app, you will be automatically sent to the user interface of the product.
