Information on establishing a connection

To establish a connection, SMA Solar Technology AG recommends only using Wi-Fi for commissioning. For a stable connection, especially in systems with e.g. system control or energy management, an Ethernet connection is advisable in order to prevent feed-in problems or yield losses.

For the Sunny Island X and the Sunny Tripower Storage X, an Ethernet connection is to be used during operation. Wi-Fi is only available for these devices for commissioning.

Additionally, the Wi-Fi direct connection with the 360° app ( > Establishing a direct Wi-Fi connection with the 360° app) is only available for the following inverters: Sunny Boy Smart Energy, Sunny Tripower X 25 und Sunny Tripower X 60.
