Performing a Firmware Update for SMA Home Storage

The battery can only be used by the inverter from a battery firmware ≥ 1.1.19.R.

Requirements:

  • The current firmware file for the SMA Home Storage must be stored on your terminal. The latest file can be found on the product page at https://www.SMA-Solar.com in the section "Downloads > "Software".
  • The user interface of the inverter is open and you are logged in.

    Procedure:

    1. Select the inverter via the focus navigation.
    2. Navigate to [Configuration] > Update and backup.
    3. In the Manual update area, click [Select the file] and select the update file for the battery.
    4. The user interface confirms that the update file is compatible.
    5. Select [Start update].
    6. Follow the instructions in the dialog.
    7. The battery is performing a restart after the firmware update.
