Damage to the DC connectors due to the use of contact cleaner of other cleaning agents

Some contact cleaners or other cleaning agents may contain substances that decompose the plastic of the DC connectors.

  1. Do not use contact cleaners or other cleaning agents for cleaning the DC connectors.

DANGER

Danger to life due to electric shock and electric arc when pulling off the DC connectors when connecting a PV field to the battery inverter

If the DC connectors with the DC conductors of the PV field were accidentally connected to the battery inverter, the high voltages of the PV field are present at the DC conductors. The removal of the DC connectors results in death or serious injury due to electric shock and electric arc.

  1. Leave the DC connectors plugged on the battery inverter.
  2. Stop working on the inverter, and only once it is dark, unlock and then remove the DC connectors and assemble again.
  3. If you would like to leave the system before troubleshooting, secure the danger zone against unauthorized entry (e.g. with a fence).

Requirements:

  • Only the supplied connectors for connecting the battery power cable may be used.

  • The length of the battery power cable must not exceed 10 m.

Procedure:

  1. Ensure that the DC connectors have the correct polarity.

    2. If the DC connector is equipped with a DC cable of the wrong polarity, the DC connector must be reassembled. The DC cable must always have the same polarity as the DC connector.

  2. Connect the assembled DC connectors to the inverter.
  3. The DC connectors snap into place.
  4. Ensure that all DC connectors are securely in place.
