Configuration of virtual generators

A virtual generator uses the energy and power values of an energy meter. For this purpose, an energy meter that has not yet been assigned must be assigned to the virtual generator.

Requirements:

  • A measuring/switching device (e.g., energy meter) must be configured.

  • All devices in the local network must be in operation and connected to the Sunny Portal via an Internet router.

Procedure:

  1. Select the menu Configuration.
  2. Select [Device management] in the context menu.
  3. Open the context menu of the measuring/switching device via the button .
  4. Select [Configure as generator].
    Information: Only PV generators can be configured in systems that use a Sunny Home Manager 2.0. For systems using SMA Data Manager/System Manager devices, the options diesel generator, combined heat and power plant, and hydroelectric power plant can be selected in addition to the PV inverter.
  5. Select the energy generator and confirm with [Next].
  6. Enter the energy generator's data.
  7. Click on [Save].
  8. The configuration is now complete.
