Battery Use by the Sunny Boy Smart Energy

State of charge ranges of the battery in battery-backup systems
Range | Parameter | Behavior of the | |
|---|---|---|---|
A | upper charging reserve | BatUsDm.ChaProDmMax | In this range further charging is prevented and the battery can only be discharged. Default value for lithium-ion battery = 0% |
B | User SOC, self-consumption range, energy management range | No parameter, but 100 sum (A, C, D) | The hybrid inverter uses the batteries within this range for increased self-consumption and other energy management functions. |
C | lower charging reserve | BatUsDm.DschProDmMin | In this range further discharging is prevented and the battery can only be charged. Parameter is to be set depending on the battery with the goal of enabling the battery to last through the night without requiring further recharging from the utility grid. Default value = 6% |
D | Deep discharge protection range | BatUsDm.DschProDmLim | Ongrid: recharging from the utility grid (if possible). If recharging fails, the battery switches off after 5 minutes. When the grid connects or after a maximum of 6 hours, the battery reconnects. Offgrid: Battery switches off after 5 minutes if recharging with significant charging current is not possible. Offgrid/hybrid: Charge battery from PV. |
