Configuring the Rapid Shutdown Function

The Rapid Shutdown function of the inverter must be enabled if the PV modules or PV strings are equipped with an additional DC disconnection unit that disconnects the PV array from the inverter. You can enable the Rapid Shutdown function by selecting one of three available operating modes in accordance with the DC disconnection unit used. If you do not want to use the Rapid Shutdown function, you can disable it.
Explanation of operating modes:
Operating mode | Explanation |
|---|---|
On | For using an additional DC disconnection unit independent of the inverter between the inverter and PV array that disconnects the PV array. |
SunSpec Shutdown | For using PV array disconnect switch as per the SunSpec interoperability specification. |
Off | The Rapid Shutdown function is disabled. |
Procedure:
- Open the user interface ( > Establishing a connection to the user interface).
- Log into the user interface as an Installer.
- On the right-hand side of the menu bar, select the menu User Settings ( > Start Page Design of the User Interface).
- In the context menu, select [Starting the installation assistant].
- Select [Save and next] until you reach the Safety functions step.
- Configure the Rapid Shutdown function according to the DC disconnection unit used.
