In systems with multiple inverters and with one SMA Energy Meter, 1 Sunny Boy Smart Energy must be used as a System Manager, making it the central device for energy management in households with a PV system for self-consumption. The Sunny Boy Smart Energy as System Manager can perform the following tasks:

• Managing the energy flows in the system

• Energy management of a total of 3 Sunny Boy Smart Energy with battery

• Incorporating PV and battery power into the system

In systems with Sunny Home Manager, the Sunny Home Manager is the central device for energy management. All inverters in a system with Sunny Home Manager must be configured as subordinate devices.
